What Is Single, Double and Tripple Density Panels?

Single Density is the most common and robust type of Swimming Pool Solar Panel. Two 50mm Header Pipes run horizontally at the top and bottom and is connected by a series of riser pipes. (example below)

Double Density Solar Panels again entails 2 x 50mm Header Pipes that run horizontally at the top and bottom but is connected by a double layer of these risers. The idea is to get double the heating but in reality, the bottom row sits in the shade of the top row for much of the day. Although you do get a slight increase, it is not double and the complexity of this design makes it harder to repair and can look very untidy.  (example below)

Tripple Density Solar Panels also entails 2 x 50mm Header Pipes that run horizontally at the top and bottom and is connected by a series of risers, however, these risers have webbing in between them to attempt to increase the absorption area. Again , an attempt to increase heat is met by an even more complex design. These panels are almost impossible to repair. They work well in certain applications but the complexity does not always justify the price. They are usually twice the price of single density panels with not much more benefit  (example below)
